The 3" classic Nantucket basket has a decoratively grooved cherry slotted base, cane staves and cane weavers. You will finish your basket with a two piece prebent cherry rim which you will nail to your basket and a cherry hoop handle which is attached with screws and bone accoutrements.

These Cherrywood basket kits are made in the same way as the historically made lightship baskets were made. Continue on the tradition of the Nantucket Lightship basketmakers.
