Nail Set or Mini Awl.  Two piece Nantucket rims need to be nailed.  We always pre-drill our nail holes prior to nailing so that we do not bend the soft brass escutcheon pins.  This long single pushpin makes an indentation in the rim where the drill will be set.

We also use it as an awl when we are lashing our miniature baskets.
